Hi, It was a beautiful evening at Grand Pre, with high tide around 7:30. There were flocks of peeps in the thousands flying, mostly well offshore, flying in their typical and spectacular formations, but none of the flocks landed close enough to see individual birds well. Certainly most seemed to be as expected, Semi. sandpipers. There were a few Semi. Plovers. We checked East Point and several other areas. On the rocks opposite the Wolfville sewage plant were 26 Black-bellid Plovers and some Least Sandpipers, and rather unusually for these parts, a pure flock of 50+ Ring-billed Gulls. There were Willets and Gr. Yellowlegs in Wolfville Harbour. There were a good number of Bobolinks in some of the fields, mostly south of Marshcrest Farm, none in adult male breeding plumage. A small flock of C.Eiders was off East Point. Plenty of Song and Savannah Sparrows about. Richard Stern Sent from my iPad
