Went for a late afternoon stroll down the saltmarsh trail.
Tide was high and just about to turn so most shorebirds were in the
distance perched on rocks. Could ID dowitchers, Black-bellied plovers,
peeps, willets and greater Yellowlegs. The only shorebird close up was the
Solitary sandpiper feeding in the brackish pond right hand side from the
trail -when walking in from the Bisset Road trail head- when one leaves
the wooded part.  Seen those there in a number of years ...........

Other than that about 20 visible Great Blue herons, a few Common terns, a
familiy of red breasted mergansers, and then suddenly masses of small
black biting flies that caused me to make a hasty escape.
