The Nature Conservancy of Canada, in partnership with the Mersey Tobeatic Research Institute will be engaging volunteers to help with research on the endangered Eastern Mountain Avens, which, in Canada, only occurs on Brier Island. We are looking for interested and enthusiastic volunteers who would like to participate in a variety of protocols to help us assess the status of this plant as well as the threats posed to its survival. The first round of activities, based on vegetation assessment are going to occur on Wednesday August 29th and Thursday August 30th on Brier Island. Diane LaRue of MTRI will lead the activity.
