Bernard Forsythe, Rick Whitman and I were fortunate to spend 3 hours on Cape Island today, thanks to Ronnie D'Entremont, who arranged the trip over from The Hawk, CSI at high tide, and who came with us. Beautiful, magical spot on a day like today, with just sea, surf, white sand, sun, and plenty of shorebirds- large numbers of many species, including 2 Am. Oystercatchers on the way over, 4 Pectoral and 3 Buff-Breasted Sandpipers- of which the latter allowed close approach for photo ops. Also several Kestrels, a Merlin and a N.Harrier. Very few passerines, there or on CSI itself.
