--Apple-Mail-9-167196984 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed Jeannie, I agree with Ulli that it's an Argiope spider, but without the dorsal view of the top of the abdomen, I think it could also be Argiope trifasciata, the banded argiope (the species suggested by Ulli is the black-and-yellow argiope, which I think would look different in this view.
