See tomorrow's King's County ADVERTISER newspaper for a report on
this graylag-esque domestic-origin goose by Ed Coleman, avid hunter
and non-birder. He talked mostly about it being maybe a white-
fronted goose, or blue goose, or snow goose. And he claimed that
someone had seen this bird fly, although considering this goose's
huge body, I have to wonder about that claim. It has been along the
Cornwallis River for two winters now, according to the article, but I
think I first became aware of it back in Spring of 2012? A poor
photo of this odd white-and-brown goose with a family of Canada geese
is with the article, which credits Bob Devine, who own land along the
river where the goose apparently overwintered twice (without help
from humans). This goose has been a loner every time I recall it
being seen by local birders like James, Richard Stern, and myself,
among others?

Free copies of The Advertiser newspaper are in the Acadia Arena, to
the left from the Box Office and main entrance.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
