Hello All,

This years season for duck hunting in Nova Scotia changed from early October to the 22nd of October.
I was told that the reason for the change was do to the fact that ducks were having more broods and that by moving the usual start for the hunt was to give the offspring of later broods the time required to mature.
Due to climate change perhaps or are ducks arriving back earlier?
Interestingly, though, the dates of the Goose hunt changed to allow a 2 week hunt in September (then re-opening the same day as the duck season), around HRM, anyway, but in other areas of NS, the dates now vary.

Thanks,

Sincerely,

Gayle MacLean
Dartmouth
