Oct 18 /12 - Kings Co

Silver Lake, Lakeville:

21 Canada Geese (surprised there were so few there)

Saxon St Pond, Sheffield Mills:

30+ Teal (no scope so not sure if there were any Blue-wings among them)

24 Mallards

1 D-c. Cormorant

Canard Pond:

~200 ducks including 1 male N. Pintail, 4+ Am Wigeon, large number of
Teal , Mallards and Black Duck. I did not have time to stop and check more
than briefly so there may be other interesting species holding up in that
pond to avoid hunters.

Also an adult and an unhappy imm. Bald Eagle ( protesting he was hungry
by the sounds of his lament) were in one of the willow trees close to the
road but left soon after I arrived.

The autumnal tints of the trees in the Valley are breathtakingly beautiful
right now.

Cheers,

Judy Tufts
