Thanks to Lois and Don Codling's posting about the Western kingbird, I
decided to take No. 80 bus and see the bird. The kingbird was still there
catching flies in the air and perching on trees. I also came across a
sparrow which I photographed. Ian McLaren and Richard Stern confirmed that
it was a clay-coloured sparrow based on the absence of dark lores. Thanks to
Ian and Richard!

The two rare birds were located by the rail tracks behind the Sobey's store.
The shopping mall is at the T-intersection of Hammond Plains Road and
Bedford Highway. It's near the Bedford Basin.

Cheers,
Liz
