Subject: Field Sparrow and Snow Buntings

I found a Field Sparrow at the gate to Chebucto Head Light. I had a good =
look at it but my camera was in the car because I thought I wouldn't see =
anything anyway! While enjoying my coffee at Duncan Reef three Snow =
Buntings landed behind me, announcing their presence with their musical =
call notes. When I stood up to leave they were no more than 20 feet away =
from where I was sitting, so off they flew.

There is an island at the entrance to Duncan's Cove that has no name =
that I can find. I've got the Sambro 50,000:1 topographical and it gives =
no name for the island. My next step is to buy the marine chart for the =
area but I can be saved this expense if someone knows the formal, not =
folk, name of the island. Meanwhile, I will call it Eagle Island for =
sake of brevity since a pair of adult Bald Eagles often sit there, like =
today, discouraging the usual horde of sea bird tenants.=20

PS: While I was away Laura saw a fawn in our back yard in Portuguese =
Cove. It's of interest because it was still spotted.

Hans
