We saw the 110 Lesser Scaup from the main parking area at Bissett Lake,
using Richard's 'scope. However, they were way down at the far end below
the Astral Drive area. Using google earth we found a path opposite 38
Stratford Drive, which is off Astral Drive on both ends. The path leads
down to some sort of pumping station (?) and is not posted. It leads
directly to lake access, passing right past the fenced pumping station.
The tuft on this duck cannot be missed. If you have the correct bird, you
will not be asking yourself if you see a tuft. We IDed this as a drake but
the flanks were not as bright white as on the drake LESC. We only viewed
the TUDU thru Richard's 'scope. I doubt you'd see it with binocs, even from
Stratford Drive.
