We weren't sure what to use= for bait so we took smelts.=0AHowever as I live in an old house my wife re= minded me that a mouse got caught in=0Aa trap last night so please pitch it= before I left. So I took the mouse=0Aand not knowing what might be useful = for bait, put it in a plastic bag=0Aand put it in my pocket. A pick pocket = would be susprised what might come=0Aout of my pocket.=0AAnyway we got ther= e, cut a hole in the ice and were fishing in part of a good=0Agroup that ha= d gathered. Just then I saw an older fellow - near as old as me=0Acame alon= g and he was going from angler to angler and taking notes in a little book.= =0AI guessed he was asking about bait and remembering the mouse I quickly h= ooked the=0Amouse by the lips and sunk it in the hole. Sure enough he came = to me and asked=0Awhat I was using for bait. I said A mouse he said A what?= I thinking he was French said=0AUn Souris - He said Yes yes I understand b= ut I don't believe you.=0ASo I pulled up the drowned mouse and held it befo= re him.
