Subject: Cooper's Hawk, White-winged Crossbill and Gray Catbird

It was very quiet this morning at Duncan's Cove and Duncan Reef. A large =
accipiter flew overhead; with a head forward posture, broad wings, and =
stiff rapid wing beats. None of this is diagnostic but indicative of a =
Cooper's Hawk. I heard and then saw four White-winged Crossbills. The =
complaints of this species is somewhat like a red squirrel.

Back home in Portuguese Cove a Gray Catbird was foraging in the front =
yard multiflora bramble while a troop of American Robins were doing the =
same in the back yard. Ring-necked Pheasants, Lincoln's Sparrow and a =
buck white-tailed deer rounded out the mix.

I could report every hour as things here at home keep changing!

Hans
