Charlie Kendell and I observed a YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER at east end of =
Jimtown Rd., Ant. near noon today. It was near the last house (blue =
roof?) near the water. Charlie got a record shot. There were 10 Northern =
Shoveler in the Antigonish sewage lagoon as well as 2 Black-headed =
Gulls. There were several more of the latter at Antigonish Landing =
wildlife management area. There were 9 Dunlin at the landing as well. =
Also noted were 2 Bohemian Waxwings at Ballantynes Cove and 4 Pine =
Grosbeak at Cape George.=20
The drive produced relatively low numbers of Bonaparte's Gulls and =
Gannets in areas where in past there have been large numbers. We noted =
nets set up to catch Atlantic silversides? in 4 locations: Jimtown, =
Cribbons Wharf, Ballantynes Cove and Lakevale. The net at Lakevale is =
below a sign that says HABITAT AREA- NO HUNTING OR TRAPPING!
I think last year I wondered what the impact of this fishery was having =
on the migrating species that use these harbours each fall.=20

Rick Ferguson reported a Red-bellied Woodpecker at his Westville, Pic. =
feeder today.=20

cheers
ken
