Meet at 9:00 am at the Tourist Information Building in Port Hastings =20
(at the Rotary). At the Canso Causeway there are frequently =20
concentrations of gulls, eagles and gannets that are feeding on =20
migrating skipjacks (aka billfish) in November. In addition, we will =20
check out the waterfront for loons, grebes, alcids, and waterfowl; =20
stop at feeders for lingering migrants; and scan a few fields and =20
creek valleys for sparrows and warblers. Lunch will follow at the home =20=

of David and Mary Johnston, 207 Hiram Street, Port Hawkesbury.
No storm date for this trip.

WINTER BIRDS
Time: 10:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m.
This will be a leisurely walk to the Headland Trail. Expect to see =20
lots of Eiders, Grebes, Scoters, Dovekies, Guillimots, Mergansers, =20
Harlequin Ducks, Long =96tailed Ducks, and Purple Sandpipers. Depending =20=

on weather conditions lunch may be eaten at the Headland. Bring =20
waterproof boots, warm clothing, snacks and lunch, and a hot drink. =20
This should be a good warm-up to the Christmas Bird Count.
As usual, there=92s no rain date because we pretty much plan for =20
anything and everything on the Eastern Shore when it comes to hiking. =20=

Bird enthusiasts of all levels are welcome at all our events =96 who =20
knows, maybe we=92ll learn something from you? No storm date for this =20=

trip.
