Along the way I saw a Kestrel sitting on a power wire. I have seen kestrels there in other years. It is near some hay fields that are no longer mowed so maybe there is mice there. A good place for barred owls also. Latter when I was making up some wood I saw some crows fly up. They were showing the colours to a Goshawk that was going by. The hawk was up a piece and going with the wind northwest to south east fast. The crows couldn't catch it or maybe didn't want to. The hawk reminded me of my Grandfather's saying for a day like this. "A good day to go out the harbor!" except with the hawk it was "A good day to go out Nova Scotia!"
