I was at Miner's Marsh, Kentville, today 2:10-3:00. The Marsh Wren is
still present. I have to be honest: I pulled it out with recorded
calls on my iPhone and I got the impression that it is being much less
vocal now that it's wintry. However, I saw it very well about 5 times
& did get a few vocal responses to the iPhone. It never quasi-sang as
it did just weeks ago.

It was located at the furthest rear corner of the second pond i.e. at
the NE corner of the entire reserve and within about 15 m of the
viewing platform that resides in that corner. The bullrushes are very
thick over a larger area there. A warning: there are Song Sparrows &
Bc Chickadees that work right down inside those rushes too.

I know Richard will pull this bird out for our CBC it it's still there.

Unfortunately, there was also a Little Brown Bat (ID not guaranteed)
flying over the largely frozen first pond. It dipped down & touched
the thin ice many times (it would have been wet) & when it touched a
bit of open water it did, in fact, make contact. I have bad photos.
Eventually it flew off towards the N bank / woods. It was about 2'C.
