On Dec. 13th I visited Kentville early AM=2C met Richard Stern out looking =
in Miner's Marsh for the Marsh Wren. We had no luck then=2C but I see he ha=
d it around noon. Thanks to his directions I was able to find 4 (3 f=2C 1m)=
Hooded Mergansers at the Saxon Street pond and a Lesser Black-backed Gull =
with the huge gull flock on Middle Dyke Road (fields opposite # 1105). As w=
ell I visited Canso and at Tom Kavanaugh's feeders where I saw at least 2 o=
f his 3 Clay-colored Sparrows and one of his 2 Dickcissels=2C but missed hi=
s Rusty Blackbird. Along Main Street opposite the convenience store=2C I ha=
d 7 White-winged Crossbills. Near O'Leary's I had a Northern Mockingbird an=
d did finally see the Common Gallinule at O'Leary's pond sneaking out just =
at dusk. Thanks again to Tom and Richard for their hospitality and informa=
tion. Cheers=2C Larry =
