--047d7b603fe6773abb04d53b3405 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 8 February 2013 When I walked for the mail this afternoon I was very surprised to encounter a Wilson's Snipe. It flushed from the ditch on Prospect Road (Rte 333) between Bayview Drive and the White's Lake Legion, and then flew up Bayview Drive. I did not relocate it. The species is already on the DOWL, but it is the first time I've ever had a February snipe. Note: to be honest my view of the bird was insufficient to rule out Common Snipe, but I am going with the odds.
