To bad humans don't have the work ethic that beavers
have!!

It reminds me of an instance in Riding Mountain National Park. We were
plagued by beavers & particularly on one 15-20 km stretch of gravel
road with many culverts. There seemed to be a family of beavers at each
culvert but the maintenance people had devised a "gate" whcih
could be placed at the entrance to each culvert & would still allow
the water to flow freely. Virtually each day the workers would travel
this road with a front end loader & would lift the gates, clean them
out & reinstall them. I don't recall who (perhaps John & Janet
Foster who were in the park around that time) decided this would make a
good movie clip so they filmed the workers doing their thing & then
filmed the beavers doing theirs. The beavers had everything back
shipshape in slightly more than an hour!!
