Hi Dave, Their pair bonds are life long so I'm sure this bird was looking.
We tried to get her released ( we assumed she was female because she was
HUGE...we affectionately nicknamed her "Birdzilla") ASAP because we knew
she must have had a mate nearby somewhere. They have a huge territory and
since she flew straight to the top of the tallest tree around, he was
likely in the right place at the right time, saw her, and came over. I'm
sure their senses are far superior to ours, especially vision. They amaze
me every time I deal with them and it is truly a privilege to work with
them :)
