I agree=2C looks like Gooseberries afterall=2C the ones I saw were closer t=
o 3cm=2C which is more in line with a Goosberry size=2C Artic Comb jelly's =
appear to be larger=2C up to 10cm according to Wikipedia.

 Paul and all=2C I think your nice photo is of what most Maritimers call "s=
ea gooseberries" -- you were correct in calling it a comb jelly (Ctenophora=
 phylum)=2C but the Latinized name=2C I think=2C is still Pleurobrachia pil=
eus.=20
Mertensia ovum is a new name for Beroe ovum=2C which is a comb jelly=2C all=
 right=2C but is a different one from our common "sea gooseberry"=3B also P=
aul's site did not mention phylum Ctenophora for comb jellies=2C which are =
distant cousins of jellyfish=2C sea anemones=2C & corals).=20
 I Googled "sea gooseberry" and got:
Sea Gooseberry - Pleurobrachia pileus - Seawater.nowww.seawater.no/fauna/ct=
enophora/pileus.html - Cached16 Mar 2013 ... Kingdom: Animalia=3B Phylum: C=
tenophora=3B Class: Tentaculata=3B Order: Cydippida=3B Family: Pleurobrachi=
idae=3B Scientific name: Pleurobrachia ...
Cheers from Jim=2C still in B.C. but on my way home.....-------------------=

Not sure of the identification=2C here's a decent close up photo of a few o=
