I ran the outing yesterday on May 26. It was an extremely windy day of abo=
ut 40 km winds. I had two people show up on this outing and we managed to =
tally roughly 39 species despite the wind. There were a number of least fl=
ycatchers and we both heard and saw our first Alder Flycatcher. At Crescen=
t Beach for shorebirds=2C there were eight black-bellied plovers=2C a singl=
e greater yellowlegs and a ruddy turnstone. For warblers=2C a northern wa=
terthrush was nice. Overall=2C warbler numbers for species at nine was far=
lower than normal. Also species were down by about 20. I believe that th=
is is the lowest number of bird species recorded on this outing. Hopefull=
y=2C it was the wind that was the divining factor for this. =20
