Hi all
I wrote this yesterday but put it in drafts and forgot to mail it.=20

Hi all
After doing a bird survey for the Nature Trust yesterday morning (June =
6) near Smithfield, Guys Co. , (since I decided to let the whole group =
know what I was up to!) I decided to look for a few butterflies for the =
butterfly atlas while I was in the area. Most numerous were Canadian =
Tiger Swallowtail- 50+ , Clouded Sulphur- 15+, Spring Azure-10, Dreamy =
Duskywing-5, Hobomok Skipper-1 Mourning Cloak-1. I managed to document =
all but the M. Cloak.=20
I spent some time in a bog looking for Elfins with no luck. My only =
netting was a brown moth but I thought there were some elfins flying =
around. The bog was a great boot grabber and hard to get around very =
far.
Many of the sightings were the Lead Mines Rd end of the Liscomb River =
Rd. near Glenelg.=20

Yellow-bellied Flycatchers were numerous in this area with 8-10 in the 5 =
km section of roads I covered. There was also a couple Olive-sided =
Flycatchers and 2 Common Nighthawks. Neat to hear the boom on the uplift =
from the dive.=20

There were 6 more Common Nighthawks flying over the Lower Caledonia =
bridge but these were not diving.=20

cheers
Ken
