Hi all:
=20
I've been asked some questions about the American White Pelican by the pers=
on who initially reported it. I would like some other feedback on her ques=
tions from those online before I send a response. For the question about t=
he breeding plumage that is correct. I don't know if it is a female or not=
though. Is there a way to tell? The following came from Charlene MacDona=
ld.
=20
I was down watching the Pelican again tonight and I=92d say he=
=92s not feeling too well. He=92s not swallowing quite right and isn=92t mo=
ving the same as yesterday. I shot some video but it=92s not great. The swa=
llows and I think some terns were diving at him. Can you tell by the sad pi=
c I sent? I hope he makes out ok.=20
If my research is correct he / she is in breeding form. Tha=
t=92s what the =93lump=94 on its bill is. Any idea what m=
ay transpire? Will he eventually try to leave on his own? I =
saw a few other people taking a look at him from the shoreline next to the =
332. James R. HirtleBridgewater =
