In the interests of more clarification Dave, in case anyone should be inter=
ested=0Athe larvae are known to anglers as Hellgramittes. Reg Baird in his =
book "Living =0AWith Trout" devotes a chapter to the subject. You might be =
familiar with=0Ahis uncle Nelson Patterson from the Kentville Research Stat=
ion who was interested=0Ain the subject and got Regs interested. Reg a man =
of many talents has written the book=0Apacked with Nova Scotia Natural hist=
ory but it is little known except among anglers.=0AHe designed a Hellgramit=
e fly featured in the NA fishing press. I found it rather=0Acomplicated to =
make and in desperation while doing a salmon study for DOF=0Aconjured up a =
simple version. It done wonders and also got featured in a prominant book.=
=0AAnyway Nancy as always started a very interesting topic.=0APaul=0A =0A=
