Hi,

Nice post, and description of flora. I'm not quite clear though from what
you say - was it a Common Yellowthroat or a Yellow-throated Warbler?

We walked the trail this afternoon, from Indian Point road. Right at the
trailhead, I was serenaded by a warbler. He perched very close to me, and
I got a very good look. A Yellow Throat. My first.
The flora were spectacular. The iris was still blooming, along with lots
of Labrador tea, three-toothed cinquefoil, pitcher plant, beach pea,
bunchberry, stitchwort, wild lily-of-the-valley, etc=97all the usuals. The=

was one plant with which I am not familiar. It was growing in the cracks
in the granite and looked for all the world like a miniature
hen-and-chickens. Could this have been roseroot (sedum rosea)? It had a
bit of a scraggly yellow tuft at the top=97like the remains of a previous
flowering.
There were quite a few Savanna sparrows, one family with a young one just
fledging. A great blue heron flew overhead. Lots of cormorants and noisy
willets.
There was NO WIND!
