Hi there.

I am amazed at how fast the black locust grows. It's like a weed!

I am also amazed at the scent. I LOVE walking the dog in the evening, with that scent on the breeze. They are quite plentiful in Windsor.

After moving back to NS from Northern BC and the NWT, the black locust has been one of my markers of summer compared to events from my 'school teacher' calendar. There's a set date for the end of the school year, but no such date for the blooming of one of my favourite shrub/trees.

I have the same happy thoughts about the blooming of clover. My most favourite runs are the ones in the evening and early morning AND the scent of the clover.....

The more I think about the it, it's that calendar of nature that tends to guide me more so than the actual 12 month, seven day a week, 12 hours of day/12 hours of a regular calendar.......

Angela in Windsor

But clammy locust and bristly locust are both still nicely in bloom within Wolfville, in the locations previously mentioned.
