Hi Angus

Your comment about the massing Tiger Swallowtails on the ground below one
of your nice photos reminded me of something from my Entomology course at
Dal long ago (taught by Edith Angelopoulos- she did some insect segments on
CBC as well).

Tiger Swallowtails are believed to mass or puddle on the ground to take in
minerals etc from the soil. They will do the same on dung or carrion too.
According to Wikipedia males do this more often than females.
