I would be interested to hear any reports suggesting successful Loon =
nesting this year at Mill Lake near exit 5 Highway 103 (Upper =
Tantallon).=20

Immediately after the Loons left the nest in 2012 Nova Scotia Power =
began lowering the water level of the lake in preparation for dam =
maintenance. The water levels were restored before spring but held at =
such a high level that the long time nesting area was effectively =
flooded out.=20

The Loons were present on a number of occasions and may have chosen a =
more vulnerable shoreline nest site but so far I have not spotted any =
with chicks.
