There were 6+ Chimney Swifts flying over downtown Wolfville around 10:45 am
yesterday (Sat July 6). There may have been more as I heard swifts calling
an hour earlier over AcadiaU 's Raymond Field.

Had a report from Richard Mckay that a pair of Eastern Bluebirds returned in
mid-June to visit his nest boxes where bluebirds raised young in June-July
2010, on the Fundy shore nr Huntingdon Point. Sadly the birds only stayed a
couple of days and have not returned. Several Tree Swallow pairs are
nesting so this may be the cause. TRSWs can be quite antagonistic around
bluebirds where nest boxes are involved. This sighting was not passed on
earlier as Richard did not wish to have the birds disturbed, hoping for
their return.

Cheers,
Judy Tufts
