Hi all:
It was a nice day to be out birding with Dorothy Poole=2C two of her birdin=
g friends from New York and myself. Along the St. Catherines Road in Port =
Joli=2C we had two solitary sandpipers. I don't remember seeing reports of=
others yet. One juvenile and an adult. At Bacarro we had one whimbrel an=
d two more were on the flats at Daniels Head. At West Bacarro=2C near the =
waters edge and at a long distance there was a bird perched back on=2C whic=
h was at the tip of a spruce tree. This area is along the coastal barrens =
which is inaccessible=2C so our view was from the road=2C through binocular=
s and the spotting scopes. The bird was a long ways off=2C but all four of=
us concur that it was likely a shrike sp. =20
