Today, on the way for a hike on the Woodville Trails on the North Mountain we were surprised to see an Osprey flying over a small farm pond near the intersection of Parrish Rd and Rt221 north of Cambridge. When we came back from our hike it was there sitting on a dead tree near the pond.

A second pleasant surprise occured a few minutes after see the Osprey, on Tory Lane we counted 40 barn swallows resting on the telephone lines and picking up gravel on the dirt road. I am not sure if they reside there or are in migration... seems early.
