Hi Randy & All, Aug 30, 2013
We have been here before but I must object to your "horrible patches =
of Japanese Knotweed".

Adjectives such as horrible and even invasive are I think offensive =
because they reflect and result in prejudice. Most if not all so called =
invasive plants are merely taking advantage of an opportunity created by =
habitat distubance/degradation. They are the scabs over the wound =
generated, directly or indirectly, by human activities.=20

I was just on a tour of the Antigonish Landing last week, where a grad =
student from the Ag Campus of Dal showed us the horrible patches of =
Japanese Knotweed. Cascading over some of it and other local vegetation =
was wild cucumber, which he said was native. I think I've heard the same =
before...I'm not within arm's reach of Zinck (the book, not the person), =
or I'd check.

edges are almost white with it. Can anyone tell me its status in NS - =
e.g. is it a noxious weed, is it introduced, does it have any beneficial =

information?

    Thanks,
