Happy 2014 to all.
May your lists be full!
A friend phoned last evening and told me that he
saw a large flock of white geese at Crescent Beach on Monday.
Estimated between 300 - 400 hundred. They were 150 m out
on the flat in knee deep water and were feeding very actively.
He estimated half were tipped up at any one time.
A few darker ones in the flock also.
There was a couple of flocks of Canadas in the area so the
difference stood out.
He called another friend who is good at photographs but
they were gone the next day.
Interesting birds that travel through in December.
Enjoy the cold snap
Paul
