Paul and Jim and others:

Balls Creek is on Highway 125 between North Sydney and Sydney River or at
the southwest end of Northwest Arm of Sydney Harbour. The Crested Caracara
has been seen in Balls Creek along Frenchvale Rd., between Campbell Rd. and
Beechmount Rd.

Kris Tynski photographed a Crested Caracara in Balls Creek on Saturday (18
Jan 2014). He has posted photos to Facebook, including the NSBS Facebook
page.

On Facebook, NSBS page from Tuesday afternoon: Tuma Young

Kris Tynski and I just finished a video interview with CTV about the
Crested Caracara. They told us that it will be aired on Live at 5 (Steve
Murphy?) at 5:50pm tonight. El Presidente' David Currie will be pleased to
know that I made sure I wore the NS Bird Society t-shirt!

Tuma Young, Nick Honig, Sue King and others have been taking some amazing
photographs. Ian McLaren has been comparing photographs from the various
sightings of Crested Caracara in Nova Scotia since the end of April 2013. Look
forward to hearing his views on this one. My guess is that it is likely
the same bird as the one seen near Port Hawkesbury and then photographed in
Louisdale before Christmas.

Tuma, and presumably others, saw the Crested Caracara on Tuesday.
