I was awoken by the hooting of a great horned owl last night around 2 am and for about 20 minutes.
I have a tree belt behind my house leading to open field and then more trees.

It has been a few years since I heard one here.

I didn't hear one calling back but the one hooting seemed to stay in one place for about 5 minutes. It was eventually to far off to hear anymore.
