The cold weather has reduced the amount of open water available to
waterfowl in places such as MacNeil's Cove, Bras d'Or and at the Sydney
River Bridge (or now what is left of the bridge as it is being rebuilt).

Sunday 09 February 2014

MacNeil's Cove, only 3 Canada Geese (but a bout a dozen at each of Leitches
Creek and Point Edward), 3 Bufflehead and 2 Common Merganser.

Ball's Creek: A surprise was a Horned Grebe, along with Common Loon, 1
Barrow's Goldeneye plus a few Common, 9 Common Merganser.

Sydney River Bridge: 16 Barrow's Goldeneye (down from 22 last week), 85
Greater Scaup and 6 Lesser Scaup.

Still a few American Robins around, saw them in three places on Sunday.
