I was not doing a scientific inventory, I was describing the scene that I enjoyed. The moles, voles, and mice all live on the meadow, thus they are; "meadow moles, voles, and mice". "Meadow" was used as a descriptor for where they were, rather than as a lay person name for the species that were assumed to be present.
