The regular monthly meeting of the Blomidon Naturalists Society will held o=
n Monday, March 17 at 7:300 PM in Room BAC241 of the Beveridge Arts Centre,=
Acadia University, Wolfville. The meeting is open to the public.

This month's presentation will be:

Kathryn and Nathan Gray: Sibling Supernova Superstars

Kathryn Gray is a middle school student from Nova Scotia. She first became =
interested in the night sky from the many family camping trips to astronomy=
camping star parties. Having seen her father find several supernovae and h=
earing about a 14-year-old girl who found one, she decided that she could d=
o that too and wanted to try. In late 2010 at the age of 10, Kathryn found =
her first supernova, a star ending its life in a large explosion. The follo=
wing media fanfare propelled Kathryn to global star status and took her on =
a whirl-wind tour and interviews, the highlight being a conference, Starmus=
, in the Canary Islands and the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New Yor=
k City and Carnegie Hall! Kathryn is still searching for her second superno=
va but now has competition from her younger brother, Nathan...
