carry the eggs away. Also watched them burying them for food at a later

On Friday night I moved a road killed deer away from the
highway and to position that would safer for scavengers visiting the
carcass. It has been visited by Crows, Gulls and at least 2 Eagles.
Today I saw a Common Raven carrying away huge mouthfuls only to return
minutes later for another load. It seems a bit early to be carrying
such amounts for newly hatched young so I suspect it may have been
carrying food to a mate incubating eggs somewhere nearby . I watched
long enough to get a rough idea of where it was headed and now have
several acres of woodland to scour in hopes of finding a nest.
