Paul =E2=80=93 great shots of the HP Snowy ! ! Especially of it in =
flight and what looks like calling from the posture or coughing up a =
pellet ??? Just guessing !
About 11-12 yrs ago when we had a Snowy Owl irruptive year and there =
was a resident HP Snowy I was keeping tabs on it .As we use to live down =
by HP and I frequently saw it .=20
That Snowy stayed well into the last week of the month of May before it =
was noticeably absent . Back then I had collected many pellets to see =
what it was feeding on .=20
The biggest prey I saw it take out was what I believe to be was a TB =
Murre. From those remains I found 1 wing and webbed foot interestingly.
Obviously well fed to have stayed so long . And possibly the same =
conditions for the present HP Snowy.

Hartlen Point
The Snowy Owl is still hanging around the golf course at Hartlen Point =
this morning. He gave me several pictures that I have included in my =
gallery. Also a few other birds noted as follows:

Eastern Passage
2 Willets at MacCormack's Beach
10 or 12 Surf Scoters in southern approach to the passage
25+ Common Eider

Flag Pond =E2=80=93 Cow Bay
4 Red-winged Blackbirds
1 American Goldfinch

Rainbow Haven
Willets and Yellowlegs dispersed throughout the salt marsh
1 Great Blue Heron
2 Common Loons in the lagoon (probably molting as they do not leave or =
fly)
A few Song Sparrows and Savannah Sparrows in the shrubbery near the =
beach house and outer parking lot.
6+ Tree Swallows =E2=80=93 very cranky =E2=80=93 nesting in boxes near =
houses on road to gun club=20

Pictures of some of these birds can be seen at:
