Hi all
I saw my first Chimney Swifts in Pictou Co. tonight at the Temperance =
St. school chimney in New Glasgow. It was 11C when I arrived at 8:20 =
and I could hear the familiar sound of twittering swifts overhead- a =
group of 8. First nine birds entered the chimney roost at 8:29 and by =
8:36, a total of 20 had entered for the night.=20

Chris Morrison photographed a Peregrine Falcon today on the Loch Broom =
loop. Nice sighting as it is not a common spring sighting.=20

Spring is a bit slow this way- I still have at least 1 American Tree =
Sparrow at my feeder in Plymouth. I saw 6 Iceland Gulls on the Pictou =
wharf (Pier C) in Pictou this afternoon.=20
Although Northern Waterthrush are here in good numbers now- had my first =
May 6 at the Brook Rd in Churchville other warblers are behind. I had my =
first Black-throated Green Warbler this morning at Brook Rd. My first =
Blue-headed Vireo was May 7 at Meadowville Station.=20

Black and White, Ovenbird, Nashville and Parula are always here before =
this date but have not heard or seen one yet.=20

cheers
ken
