We were out on Sacrifice Island yesterday (off of Heckmans Island, Lun Co, NS) and observed a group of about 30 Common Terns feeding. The were gleaning something near the surface of the water, never actually diving. Nothing that I could see in their bills so probably not small fish.

What is it they might be feeding on?

Nancy
