SATURDAY, MAY 24: SACKVILLE RIVER WALK

Damon Conrad, Coordinator of the Sackville Rivers Association (SRA),
will host an easy 3-km walk along the Bedford-Sackville Connector
Greenway and the beautiful Sackville River. He will point out efforts
of the SRA in  wild Salmon habitat restoration.. Participants will see
different types of trees, including old growth Hemlock, and perhaps
Salmon, eagles, Osprey, and Deer. Damon will talk about the watershed
dominated by urban development, and how SRA may be able to reduce
urban impacts on the river. Bring water and dress for the day's
weather.

Time/Place: 10:00 a.m. at Lynn Court, Lower Sackville. From Halifax,
on Highway #102, take exit 4B at the Bedford/ Sackville Interchange.
After 100 m, take exit 1K toward Lower Sackville. At the first set of
lights turn left onto Old Sackville Road and drive about 500 m to the
trailhead at Lynn Court (on the left). Park on the Old Sackville Road
after the guardrail (heed the "No Parking" signs).
