21 May 2014
Hebb Lake, Lunenburg Co.=20

Came across a plant while at work. It's quite small emerging from shallow wa=
ter at lakes edge. Seemed to be rooted in submerged needles from surrounding=
 pine trees.=20

It had a white stalk (reminiscent of bean sprouts), and a bright yellow tip.=
The feel almost reminded me of a saprophyte. I'd estimate each plant was 6-=
8 centimetres tall.=20

I can't ever remember seeing anything like it. I'm not even sure what I'm lo=
oking at. Is it part of a flower or some type of fungus.=20

Below are links to photos of the plant(?).=20
