HI all
Took a couple hours this morning to look for some arrivals in the =
Churchville, Brookville, Springville area near my place. I did not add =
much to my spring birds except a Mourning Warbler (Coromonie Rd.) and =
five Canada Warblers with a total of 16 warbler species. There seem to =
me more Yellow-bellied Flycatchers about, but I have yet to hear Alder, =
Olive-sided, E W Peewee and E. Kingbird. There are probable a few about, =
but certainly not in any numbers. Least Flycatchers were very abundant =
with 13 in my loop drive.=20
The little roadside pond in Churchville still has a Canada Goose on a =
probable nest (been there for quite some time now!), a couple of male =
Wood Ducks, 4-5 small young Black Ducks which appeared a couple days =
ago and a calling Sora.=20
On the Brook Rd. I discovered a Hairy Woodpecker nest with audible young =
and the fem carrying food to the nest hole about 10m high in live =
poplar.=20

cheers
Ken
