Thanks Blake, I=E2=80=99ll have to find out more about these Atlases on =

=E2=80=9CIn response to your question about fines for off-leash dogs, no =
one has ever been given a fine that I am aware of at Martinique or =
Conrad's Beaches. Piping Plovers used to nest on both of these HRM =
beaches, but not in the last few years. I have made many, many phone =
calls to DNR in regards to this matter, and there is at least one =
enforcement officer who seems to have a sympathetic ear. We met him on =
the beach one stat holiday, he had been called in on his day off because =
of a report of someone tenting on the beach. They take that very =
seriously. Martinique Beach is a provincial park and an Important Bird =
Area, with the law stating that all dogs are to be kept on a leash. =
Conrad's Beach is also protected, partially due to the Piping Plover =
habitat and also for the shorebirds who use it in fall migration, I =
believe, and has the same rules. The gentleman from DNR encourages us to =
keep calling, because according to him, "the squeaky wheel gets the =
grease". I encourage you to call (1-800-565-2224) as well. =E2=80=9C

Thanks too Kate. I have entered DNR into my contacts and a few instances =
standout where I could have used this number.
