Hi all
Today, I received photos of a female Yellow-headed Blackbird which was =
seen yesterday, July 6, in Lyons Brook, Pictou Co. It was not seen today =
when I spoke briefly with the observer. Some areas were checked for =
Arthur rarities yesterday, but despite being a pretty intense storm =
here, I guess we were too far from the path of rare birds. Steve Vines =
and I observed an adult Laughing Gull at Big I. yesterday but there has =
been one or two Laughing Gulls there this spring/summer regardless.=20
More important, our nesting Piping Plovers seemed to with-stand the wind =
with one exception. One of the chicks at one location was not observed =
by Steve and Amber Vines when the beach was checked last evening. So if =
there is one less chick here then all 3 sets of plovers in the county =
now have 3 chicks with one set due to hit the 28 day mark this week.=20

cheers
Ken
