Hi Paul

Yesterday (Wednesday, July 9th) the glossy ibis was there on the sand pit
between 4 and 5, at least when the thick fog receded to the ocean.

There were at least six laughing gulls foraging on the kelps on the ocean
side or where the cormorants were 'fishing'

Got a message from Chris Peters who saw the ibis and Forsters tern today -
just before 1 pm.

Cheers
Liz

July 10, 2014

Travelling around Cow Bay and Rainbow Haven yesterday (9th) I noted the
following:

Rainbow Haven:
50+ Short-billed Dowitchers (morning and evening)
4 Lesser Yellowlegs (evening)
Numerous Willets

Cow Bay – Silversands Beach Marsh (evening):
7 or 8 Laughing Gulls feeding behind the beach
3 Common Terns also feeding with the LAGU’s
Willets defending nests
1 Least Sandpiper
4 Wimbrels feeding in the wrack on the beach (too much fog for pictures)

No sign of the Glossy Ibis at Silversands Beach.

Added some pictures of some of these birds to my gallery at:
